SAL provides most of its programs during the after school hours. Studies have shown that youth who make constructive use of their free time during these hours, bonding with positive role models and engaging in meaningful programs, are less likely to participate in or become victims of juvenile delinquency. To meet the needs of youth, SAL has programs in the following chapters in San Mateo County:
Bayshore SAL partners with the LeMo Foundation in Redwood
Central County SAL serves the unincorporated area of San Mateo Highlands, Woodside, and Portola Valley.
Millbrae SAL serves the city of
North County SAL reaches the unincorporated areas of South San Francisco, Colma, and Broadmoor.
North Fair Oaks SAL partners with the Siena Youth Center in Redwood City.
San Carlos SAL serves the City of San Carlos.
South County SAL serves the unincorporated area of North Fair Oaks in Redwood City including Fair Oaks, Garfield, and Clifford Schools.
Central Coastside SAL serves the City of Half Moon Bay.
Coastside SAL serves the Moon Ridge Housing Units that are located in unincorporated Half Moon Bay.
La Honda SAL serves the Town of La Honda and surrounding communities of San Mateo County in collaboration with Coast Side Children's Services.
North Coastside SAL serves the Pillar Ridge Mobile Estate Park and the unincorporated area of San Mateo County's coast north of Half Moon Bay.
Pescadero SAL serves the Town of Pescadero and the south coastside area of San Mateo County in collaboration with Coast Side Children's Services.
